Fr. Paul Campbell was born and raised in Wilmington Delaware. He attended Christ Our King grade school and Salesianum High School. After graduating from DeSales University he spent a year teaching in the Wilmington public schools. The desire to teach combined with his interest in spirituality and a great deal of God’s grace led him to the seminary. Upon ordination in the Oblates of St. Francis DeSales he began a teaching career that took him to Florida, Philadelphia and eventually back to Salesianum School where he was school chaplain and teacher for nine years. Since coming to the Diocese of Wilmington he has ministered in Easton, Salisbury and Chesapeake City. The Chesapeake Bay theme has been extended for what he hopes will be a long time here in Chestertown and Rock Hall. His recreation theme follows that of the apostles. He likes to fish and canoe. He also takes long walks in nature usually with a stick in his hand and a little white ball at his feet. His interest in spirituality continues combined with his love of teaching. He shares his reflections in a monthly scripture column for the Dialog which is the diocesan paper. He also contributes to the series “Faith Alive” which is distributed by Catholic News Service. |
